I just joined this gym through Active and Fit. If you’re into competitive weightlifting or bodybuilding than this gym may not be for you. It’s a locally owned gym but it has a commercial vibe. No chalk is permitted, you can’t remove shoes/shirts, and there are signs indicating if you drop the dumbbells you’ll have your membership cancelled. Now that’s not the reason for the 4 stars since I can’t dock them for who they cater to. The equipment is average, nothing special but you can definitely get a solid workout. It’s also not 24/7. Charlie was very nice but the guy with the tattooed fingers wasn’t.
Been going to this gym for a few weeks. It's quiet and I rarely have to wait to use anything when working out. Staff seem pretty chill and friendly and the price is reasonable. You can also bring a guest for free at anytime. Only complaint is the building is like a dead zone for cell service. Public Wifi is currently having issues but I imagine will get fixed soon
I would like to see a standing calf raise machine if possible as well as a laying bench press machine, and decline chest press machine but understand that space is limited
I love this gym. I go here to avoid the people I regularly interact with up in divide and woodland park. They have saunas in the bathrooms and tanning beds as well. The gym offers many options and excellent setups. The classes are mostly reliable however, not always available. The zumba is a bit too easy and not intense as well. All 3 levels.
I've been with this gym since it opened in 2009. Clean and well run. Everybody is happy there. Casey and Sarah are the new owners who will carry on Duane and Kelly's awesome culture.
I travel around the country a lot and it's hard to find a gym this good. Great staff, lots of equipment, and never too crowded to get a serious lift. I would recommend this gym to anyone and if I lived in Colorado Springs, I would make this my permanent gym. Only a few things keeping Accolade from being perfect. (1) The clips that keep the attachments on the cables are permanently attached. This is a safety hazard for those of us who like to use the cables without the attachment because it could easily catch a finger on release and break it. (2) It would be cool to have a pronate close grip attachment like the Mag Grips. (3) The biggest sin is not having a plate loaded iso lateral row machine.
Either way, I am lucky to call this place my temporary home for a month!
